Curriculum Overview

To keep our parents and carers updated we have placed below our Long-term Overview for each Curriculum subject, and our guidance on Early Reading.

In our school we uphold the British Values of tolerance, respect and liberty; democracy and the rule of law, and this is obvious within everything we do. We also work within the UNICEF Convention on the Rights of the Child, as a Rights Respecting: GOLD school.

Our Curriculum Guidance has been updated to reflect how our curriculum has been redesigned, is delivered and evaluated for impact. You can read it here.

Curriculum Long Term Plans

Each of the links below will take you to long-term overviews for each subject. These are reviewed and updated where appropriate each year.

Most subjects have a two-year rolling cycle. This year is Cycle B.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Hesleden Primary School we believe that inclusive education means providing all pupils with appropriate education and support alongside their peers. The Curriculum is all the planned activities that the school organises in order to promote learning, personal growth and development. Further information can be found in the SEN Information Report.

If you would like to discuss your SEND requirements in detail please contact the school to arrange an appointment.
